Holdens Lake has just delivered its first ever 40lb+ carp – and what a fish it is!
Sam Firth had an unforgettable session from Swim 10, landing The Sergeant at a whopping 43lb 10oz, smashing the lake record and raising the bar once again on Holdens!
But he didn’t stop there…
Sam also banked:
26lb Mirror
32lb 4oz Common
Talk about a session to remember!
Fishing 21 wraps towards the yellow bush on the left of Swim 1, Sam put in the work with pin-point baiting using a marker float. His 6” Slip D combi rig and a bottom bait topped with corn sealed the deal .
His baiting mix?
✅ 6mm pellet
✅ Green Giant corn
✅ 15mm RG Baits boilies
All applied via catapult around the float 🙌
Massive congrats Sam — Holdens is on fire and clearly, there’s more to come from this incredible water…

The colours on that
